Quantom of Solace - Wii Dog Shit screens

One of our readers "TanookiTravis" questioned why we haven't seen any screens from the Wii version of Quantom of Solace......can you see the reason now? To say this game looks like an abomination is an understatement. Nintendo 64 textures and what? A blue tarp for water? Call of Duty 4 engine my ass. Someone must have just slipped up at EA by mentioning that the Wii version would run that engine. If it is running it, then they might as well just not even try running it. In fact if they aren't going to even try to make this game look decent, why not just cancel the game? Don't waste our time with these games like look worse than Playstation 2, it's not 2006 anymore and you can't just get away with using "unique Wii controls" as an excuse anymore. A developer needs to put a full effort into their games on Wii: control, gameplay, graphics and sound all need to have a strong effort or no one but a small portion of people will buy it. I know I will not be buying it.

Believe me this not about having HD graphics. What its about is lack of effort on Wii development. The Wii simply can do much better than this.

i wasn't impressed with hd versions, just better water and that silly perfect dark zero looking shiny greasy textures, that look plastic..

i first thought ok its looking ok then you look at back grounds etc and it looks like a EA ps2 bond game in the mid life of ps2

this is a wii it should be close to x360 not ps2

cod 5 looks cool but again doesnt seem to actually tap into wiis gpu it more a case of big fill rate and good ww2 art direction

conduit mite be a bit retro in its art direction but its clearly hitting ps3/x360 like effects and shaders and colour and is seriosly coming along

iv got doubts about cod 5 , got to see the 2 activition shooters running on a good video i think activition are bulling us they aint pushing the wii maybe more than others but not really

ps2 a pile of crap graphically and loading and hard to code had huge dev teams and budgets and expensive middleware and was pushed hard

wii is by 09 going to be by far the lead console its easy to code and supports all types of effects

and we get this shite the industry has a serious issue with nintendo being number 1 and it shows that as a industry it needs to grow up the lead format should be supported

nintendo casual

nintendo kiddy

nintendo doesnt allow blood

nintendo dont allow 18 games

were do these fantasys come from

wii if anything with its 3d motion is more HARDCORE

I just knew from the dark corners of my brain that the Wii version would not even receive the same amount of attention and effort compared to Call of Duty: World at War because it's not handled by Treyarch. I was willing to give the Wii version the benefit of the doubt because it's handled by a development team that's making it for the PC, so there has to be some hope that the Call of Duty 4 engine is considered.

But now, after looking at these screenshots, I no longer have to wait for baited breath for this version. I don't know whether I should blame Sony for not killing off the PlayStation 2, which almost every games' design has been the main template for making the Wii, or the developers who are only spending backburners and spare change for this poor excuse, all I know is that this is just a shame compared to what High Voltage Software has contributed with The Conduit, and completely dimishes the Wii's reputation for developers. I know the casual market is been the new bread and butter for the Wii's success, but the core games really have to be on the console in full force if developers hope to get anything out from the Wii's success, especially our money. 2009 can't come soon.

Anyway, I've already had this game on reserve for the Xbox 360, as well as millions of others games that are headlined on the console since it has more accessibility in the market against the PlayStation 3, while grabbing some of their delicious exclusives.

Biohazard, I am right there with you on the "can't wait 'til 2009" statement. I am the exact same way. I have a few games that seem mildly interesting but honestly, I simply cannot wait for Madworld, The Condiut, and hopefully Monster Hunter 3 before too long.

As for Quantum of Solace (thanks for the mention Dave), I will most certainly not be buying it if there are games that are obviously going to be far, far better in only a few months time.

buying them on x360 gives the developers the excuse they want

hell yes! These are shit screens. its becos of lazy Dev like them who produces 'half bake' stuffs that gave Wii such a bad reputation in graphics. Wii needs more dev like the Conduit team. Nintendo should barred these dev from producing crap.

Well well well the same old thing nothing new. I have given up as a gamer. It has become like everything else in america that starts out great. We are seeing a new video game revolution sadly not for the better just like the entertainment industy they are willing to sell out at the drop of hat. There are very few devlopers that have any heart left. This shit bond game is another example of making the most money with a crap product because of the way the business end of the video game industry is setup. Now cross platform games our looked at for total profit not the best game the devloper can make for each system. I just got mega man 9 on my wii its awesome (and f@#$ing hard)Im playing the piss out of it. People get way to caught up on bells and whisles, graffics dont always make the game great but as you all know devlopment time and effort do. If you disagree about these new changes in our entertainment industry play this bond game, watch the new starwars movies or new indana jones again and tell me you didnt die inside just a little. The video game industry went from a millon dollar industry to a multi billion dollar one in less than ten years. The large devlopers no longer care about the consumer (the gamers) just profits. The companys are no longer run by hard core gamers and programers but business men. If you want to do something about the market (that means us the gamers) we must do something about it. Boycot devlopers and companys that care more about dollars than making a good games or anything good. If you are so inclined and really pissed like I can get then write the devlopment company a nasty email. Tell them that they suck flat out. Do your research and think about the games you buy and why. They think we are stupid and sadly a large majority of socitey will just except this crap. Thats what we have shown, all of us as free market agents, that even if a game is crap most wii owners will by it so what do the devlopers do keep making shit games. Well I dont know if this helps but I will get off my soap box now.

Yeah; this one is horrible graphics wise and from the sounds of it; it looks like another big Activision brand title is being rushed: Spiderman 3 anyone?!

Maybe it's just me; but I gave up on James Bond the moment Nintendo and Rare decided to no longer be the brand holder which probably explains why James Bond turned to crap afterwards.

Maybe it's time to look at smaller developers who are working for Wii as being worth our time to play their games on because the bloat shown in EA, Activision and to a lesser extent SquareEnix among others is clearly showing in the quality. And it's not limited to Nintendo platforms either.

This has pissed me off so much it's unbelievable. So much for that crap about making QOS the best looking game on wii to date. This is an outrage i was looking foward to this game for ages especially with the online and so called cod4 engine working on it. It's just another quick money maker for the developers. I am so glad i saw these screens b4 i went out and bought the game cuz this looks so rushed. I know if your a nintendo fan you have pretty much come to accept gameplay over graphics but with games like the conduit and monster hunter 3 coming out with graphics just as good as the xbox360, shit like this just won't sit well with the market. Developers seriously need to start pulling their finger out before they completely lose the hearts and the respect of all gamers. thank god for developers like high voltage and capcom, roll on 2009!!

Are you certain those are genuine screen shots? It looks to horrible to be true, honestly...

A little more research perhaps?
