The Conduit: updated screens

The Conduit shows a lot of potential, and I'm happy that High Voltage is not releasing the game until early 2009 to perfect the game with more development time. While the screens I've shown here look great (great main character detail on the hands and guns), the rest of the screens that have been released on other sites leave more to be desired. The main problem is the art design and poor textures of the Alien enemies shown so far. The good news is that High Voltage has plenty of time to fix those issues since they have a great engine to run the game and in the end I'm sure it will look extremely good on Wii.

Yeah, the game looks kinda hit and miss in the graphics department. So it is good that High Voltage has plenty of time to polish up and fix the issues it has right now.

Graphics aside, there is one thing that scares me about these screens. On the images showing the hands way in the sky and the lights on the arms the cursor is way at the top of the screen. Now I know this is a work in progress and they could simply have changed the controls to demonstrate what the arms look like but I certainly hope they don't let you point the cursor all the way to the edge of the screen and not turn the character's head.

Really though, I am nit-picking a game that is honestly more than 6 months away from completion. I seriously doubt they will screw up the controls after what has been proven in Metroid and M0H: Heroes 2.

I think the game is going to do quite well, actually. I'm just worried that they're going to make the game just like every other shooter (get some guns and kill anything that moves). The Wii MUST come up with some really great shooters right now to get the hardcore gamers attracted again. Even though Metroid Prime 3 and MOHH2 were really amazing games, they're not enough to keep the gamers who like shooters hooked on the Wii.

Anyway, just would like to say that you have a good blog here. I'm going to add a link to your blog on mine, if it's okay with you.
