Watch Dogs Wii U confirmed & new gameplay video

The gameplay above was demonstrated using a high end PC that is supposed to be close to the PS4 specs at the Sony conference yesterday. I guess you could still classify what Sony showed at their conference as "target renders"

On another note, the Wii U version of the game was officially announced by Ubisoft as well:

UBISOFT®'S GROUNDBREAKING NEW TITLE
WATCH_DOGS™ TO DEBUT ON PLAYSTATION®4 COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM AT LAUNCH

Ubisoft® Showcases Exclusive Live Demo at PlayStation® Meeting 2013

NEW YORK - February 20, 2013 - Today, following the announcement of the PlayStation®4 from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE), Ubisoft® revealed that its highly anticipated open world action-adventure game, Watch_Dogs™, will be available for the launch of the new system.

As demonstrated onstage today at PlayStation Meeting 2013, Watch_Dogs' ambitious scope illustrates that Ubisoft is once again at the forefront of new technologies, giving freedom to development teams to create unprecedented entertainment experiences. Development of Watch_Dogs is being led by Ubisoft Montreal, with support from Ubisoft's Bucharest, Paris, Quebec and Reflections studios. Receiving more than 83 awards and nominations at E3 2012 where it was first announced, Watch_Dogs blends cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated game design into a realistic, living open world.

In Watch_Dogs, players will experience the realities of living in our fully connected society, where individuals and corporations are at risk of exposure by our ever-increasing reliance on networks and technology.

Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago's central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city's omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

"Ubisoft has a strong history of supporting new technologies with unique and creative offerings," said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer, Ubisoft. "The power and capability of the PS4 allows the Watch_Dogs team to further push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible in interactive entertainment."

Watch_Dogs will be available on PS4 at launch, along with its release on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii U™ system from Nintendo and Windows PC.

I am just saying what was reported by the developer. Also, no the PC will always out class a console. PC's let you use multiple GPUs and there is no way the PS4 has a GTX 690 equivalent inside of it since that GPU by itself costs $1000 bucks. The PS4 can reach just below 2 TFLOPS so it has somewhere in-between a Radeon 7870 and 7850. Not even close to the best PC GPU by a long shot but not terrible either. The developers will say a lot but for a console an HD 7870 would be a beast with not too much power consumption. I'm also sure that the GPU is customized to take the watts down even further just like the Wii U's GPU did but obviously not as drastic.

I don't know if they customized anything with PS4. A lot of what I see seems to be off-the-shelf parts.

They just put the most powerful hardware they could get their hands on in there without it being totally ridiculous. This is a HUGE gamble by Sony and unless they have a plan to capture the casuals, non-gamers, and core gamers like they did with the PS1 and PS2 it could be a terminal mistake.

destroyah yes very true its not all concurring...

NO EDRAM NO LOW LATENCY HIGH SPEED OPTIMIZATION

NO HARDWARE DATA COMPRESSION TO CPUS NO EDRAM CATCH ITS JUST OFF THE SHELP PC

AND THAT'S THE POINT SONY HAVE BUILT A PC there's no porting here they take a pc game slightly change the code so pcs wont run it and call it a ps4 game

thats the whole 8gig nonsense its so lazy pc devs dont have to port and optimize anything

the ps4 is a industry console not a gamers console its for the LAZY UNTALENTED INDUSTRY !!!!!

its also NOT NEXT GEN move is no match for wii remote and plus the sub thingy is no match for nunchuck and the cough please stop sony dualshock 4 is no match for game pad

the ios device add on nonsense is hilarious and stupid

what people seem unable to understand is nintendos gpu is custom its a nintendo gpu not a pc theres functions that dont require ram why use say 100mb to programme in a effect in a shader wen you can just turn it on for free in wiiu

people seem totally unable to understand this ps4 like a pc will be EXTREMELY HIGH LATENCY AND POOR COMPRESSION... ITS JUST OF THE SHELF X86 TABLET PARTS

TRYING TO BRUTE FORCE WHAT WIIU CAN DO FAR MORE CLEANLY

sony is giving the industry not the gamers what they want a lazy assed console and crappy controls

move is dumb dualshock 4 is dumb and the kinect eyetoy thing will be a head in hands joke

cloud gaming is physically and physics impossibility you need 100gb internet plus to even try that rubbish

this console if a success will literally destroy gaming and put it into the past witch is what mr industry wants zero talent gaming

sony is fighting its own death i think ps4 has sealed that deal and to try and pass of vita as gamepad oly a moron would fall for that

You do realize that Sony sells mobile devices and smartphones. I heard that they are #3 in the pecking order behind Samsung and Apple.

This is also one of the biggest reasons why Vita has had such low sales and 3DS has done reasonably well in the fact of the mobile device revolution: Why bother releasing a portable like Vita when you are already selling a similar product that is much more over than most portables out there? Selling a mobile phone that plays games and one that doesn't just seems so counter productive now.

And I'll say this again: Mobile devices are the new personal computers: Lots of people will buy it for the same reason they bought those clunky PC's in the past: it's an all purpose product which gives programming power to the consumer. It will happen if it hasn't already happened.

As for Watch Dogs: What dogs?
