Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare coming to Wii

"Wii owners will be getting their own Modern Warfare fix this fall, as Activision will release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for Nintendo's best-selling platform in November, arriving day and date with Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be a port of Infinity Ward's blockbuster hit Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, originally released in 2007 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The Wii version of that game is planned to arrive on November 10 of this year, the same day that Modern Warfare 2 ships to retail."

So while I'm happy that they are finally getting around to bringing this game to the Wii, I'm concerned that this is still a 2 year old release. It had better be exactly the same as the other versions in terms of online and single player content, or Activision will probably not sell as many as they would like since people are really tired of getting the shaft with the Wii.

This is great news hopefully they will make it look better then World at War although I thought World at War looked good for a port.

I wish this came out about a year ago, maybe instead of WaW, but it's still cool. Maybe I'll put it low on my X-Mas list but that's the best chance they have.

ITS A GIMPED GAME or THEY HAVE TAKEN THERE TIME TO MAKE A GOOD VERSION WITH BETTER GRAPHICS

WAIT AND SEE HAY GUYS MAYBE THE TIME WAS TO POLISH IT AND DO A TRUE WII GAME

OR ITS A WEAK CASH IN

NOT BEING WII DEFENCIVE HERE BUT MODDERN WARFAIR 2 IS LOOKING A BIT NAFF

THE MAIN STORY SEEMS MORE ARCADY AND I WOULDNT PLAY FPS WITH OUT WIIMOTE/NUNCHUCK

OR ZAPPER DUALSHOCKS ARE DAM OLD AND RUBBISH AT FPS

I hate to spoil everyone's celebration, but it's too fucking late.

November 10th? How long have they been making this game?

I'm betting that this is a cheap cash-in by Activision. Until I see some screens and footage, I'll keep wearing my skepticism hat.

I'd do the same thing......but I am hopeful.

i hope they don't half-ass this cause if they do we all lose.

the fact its late does have me wonerdering is it a case of lets build a real wii version and expand on are cod waw wii engine

if so then expect a polished game and controls and maybe extras and maps that didnt ship foe x360 ps3

like a cod 4 X so to speak like resident evil 4 extras ps2 got

and ofcourse extra online maps

if so im all for it

but then again a late cheap port of an older game could also happen

its just strange there doing cod 4 the only reason i can think up is its been in development for a wile and wii waw and cod 4 x360 will be there starting point

they could polish this to a shine if they wanted and a nice up in the graphics quality

but i wont hold my breath

@Cesar

There's a good chance they'll half-ass this. We should all expect this as Wii-owners.

Why on earth would Activision announce the Wii-version this close to its release? My concern is how long Treyarch has been working on this.

However, I will give this port a chance. We should be lucky to have a game like this to come on our system. If the screens and footage look good, I might be optimistic.

yeah but I still hope that it will turn out good even though I know it is not likely. but Treyarch might pull it off but that just sounds like wishful thinking.
