Pachter says Nintendo fanboys will buy any cardboard box that says Nintendo on it, while bashing Nintendo about the Wii U in the process. How these guys are allowed to make statements like this and get paid for it is beyond me. The Wii U has not had all the launch games announced yet, no price point and no release date. These guys have no basis at all about how to judge the Wii U's performance. The Wii U is going to sell based on what experiences the new games bring and not just on the hardware itself.

Pachter says Nintendo fanboys will buy any cardboard box that says Nintendo on it, while bashing Nintendo about the Wii U in the process. How these guys are allowed to make statements like this and get paid for it is beyond me. The Wii U has not had all the launch games announced yet, no price point and no release date. These guys have no basis at all about how to judge the Wii U's performance. The Wii U is going to sell based on what experiences the new games bring and not just on the hardware itself.

I love that insulting comment from Pachter because it demonstrates the contempt the so called unbiased critics have on fanboys in general. Never mind that Michael has time and time again shilled for Sony and anything that can be constructed as a "Nintendo is doomed" meme just waiting to be exploited. It's basically idiots who project themselves.
Memo to Pachter: Have you ever asked why some people became fanboys of systems like Nintendo ones? Have you ever thought that Nintendo makes hardware that actually works and I don't have to go to the repair shop after light use? (Playstation 2; I'm looking at you! And I avoided XBOX 360 for the exact same reason as PS2.) I am not going to get burned again by crappy craftsmanship of hardware. You can get away with crappy software; if only because it does sometime lead to fun experiences even if it is unintentional. Have you thought of that Pachter?
And what about the Nintendo games that the creators seem to put more effort and diversity into instead of being just a bunch of shooters? What about sequels that actually try to be better than the originals? How about better customer service? How about having more fun and putting a smile on my face when I most need it?
Michael; it's clear you NEVER thought this one through to it's logical conclusion. When a foaming at the mouth fanboy like me can bring out the best reasons for being a fanboy just on questions alone; you are exactly what the Malstrom said you are: An arrogant fanboy who projects itself claiming not to be a fanboy; only to proceed to make fanboy comments.
Michael Pachter is a grade-A jackass! It isn't because he has "opinions," it's because he constantly makes colossal miscalculations, outrageous predictions, and exhibits hypocrisy that solidify his hated reputation in the gaming community. Earlier, he complained about Nintendo fanboys making unsubstantiated claims about the Wii U's success, yet he has been doing the exact same thing for the past several months by outright declaring it a "failure." The asshole has made a career out of making unsubstantiated claims.
I also love how Pachter comes out and states that Nintendo brought this all on themselves by hiding the Wii U shipment numbers with the Wii. Yet; he said nothing about Playstation Vita being combined with PSP shipment numbers. And Playstation Vita has been out for months now and dropped down to 37,000 units worldwide; which is less than 3DS at it's worst (about 40,500; in fact, Vita was just a tad over 40,000 worldwide the week before that.)
And Wii U is still in mass production at this point; Nintendo is not going to release numbers for Wii U until they know how many Wii U are created and tested. We'll probably know this in October when Nintendo releases their finances.
Pachter; knock it off please.

I missed one additional point about this: If Nintendo had released the Wii U shipments now (as Michael wants) and then couldn't deliver on production numbers of said shipments then Pacther would have thrown it back in Nintendo's face. It's better than Nintendo combine the shipments and then wait until October when they have a good idea how many Wii U units will be available for the launch window.
And then the soothsayers are shocked when we hate them. My free advice makes more sense than theirs and I don't get paid for it. Not that I'm interested in getting paid for something any Joe/Jane could dish out.
