Unreal Engine 4 confirmed to run on Wii U

Epic Games Mark Rein made these comments confirming that Wii U could run Unreal Engine 4 if developers chose to port it:

"I'll state that I don't think it's our intention to bring Unreal Engine 4 to Wii U, but Unreal Engine 4 is going to be supremely scalable.
"We'll run on mobile phones and on a wide variety of things, so if a customer decides they want to port an Unreal Engine 4 game to Wii U, they could. But Unreal Engine 3 is a really good fit for that platform."
Epic Games' senior PR manager Dana Cowley added that, "beyond the PC, we haven't confirmed any other platforms for Unreal Engine 4."
So this pretty much confirms that Wii U will be next-gen port friendly with the other systems. Epic Games of course did not tailor make their engine specifically for the Wii U but the system will still have enough modern features to run it. This is more proof that the Wii U has the chance to not get left out of the next-generation of console game development and also not repeat what happened to the original Wii.

Epic games has no plans at the moment to makes games for wii U.He wasn't knocking the wii U he was just explaining what systems it can work like the newer IPhones. He confirmed it can work on the Wii U.

He is saying initially their not supporting it but he is saying it can handle it,and they havnt got any games in development at Epic, but other publishers EA/Ubi/Sega/THQ ect can use the engine if they please on WiiU,CE3 is more powerful anyway, and a CE3 WiiU game is at Gamescom ?

WiiU is DX11/OpenGl 4.1/2gig RAM/Compute shader 11/

Mobile phones are not even close

I think everyone is making too much of a big deal with the unreal engine. The WiiU Zelda tech demo looked good enough to me. Besides, I don't know if I want all my games photorealistic. I could understand for FPS, but...
I agree if Unreal 4.0 runs on the WiiU, it's a plus!

When it comes to artwork, music, game design, programmimg, etc. -
"It's not the arrow, it's the indian". Actually, you can apply that saying to almost anything. LOL.
On a side note, I was really looking forward to see what Factor 5's engine could do on the Wii.

I'm glad you put up the Zelda demo. If you know about the unreal engine then you also know what it's benifits are. Real time lighting and particle effects.
Both of those are found in the Zelda demo already and the tessalation unit isn't even being used yet.

Plus frostbite already does more and the cry engine will benifit the most on the wiiu because of its procedural art pipeline.

On top of this this is the first gen or wave of software two years to a year in new compilers will be done, the tessalation unit will be dropped into the sdk in a more robust way and Nintendo will stream line the os.

For the people trolling or hating just wait for monolith, retro, pan tower makers, treasure, grasshopper studios, the last story developers, etc. they will show you more than specs what this system can do.
