If you take a close look a the screen above, you will notice that the 3DS XL now has two small bumps on the top outer area above the 3D screen. It would seem that you won't have to worry about closing your 3DS XL and opening it again to notice lines from the bottom screen rubbing against the top. It's nice to see that Nintendo didn't forget this issue when designing the XL, otherwise there would have been even more systems being returned for screen repairs than they already had.
