Lets get in the E3 spirit

The N64 was considered mind blowing state of the art 3D graphics in 1996. It's amazing how far gaming has come, but also how much developers have lost over the years on what truly makes a great game.

it also has the fastest memory of any console @ 500mhz LOL that was in fact a load of trash rambus ram in n64 ruined its performance as did the tiny texture catch

Even so, the N64 was the home console to own if you wanted to play FPS, TPS and anything that was rendered in full 3D. And the PS3 could've used an expansion pack port, like the one the N64 had. Maybe Skyrim wouldn't run like a powerpoint presentation.

And I remember trying to play Tomb Raider on the PS1 right after playing Super Mario 64 and it was awful. Just trying to move, run and climb platforms was a challenge. I kept wondering how the fudge Tomb Raider was often mentioned when discussing 3d games. When Super Mario 64 nailed it. That game got everything right. Gabe Newell was right all along. SM64 inspired his games and when asked what game he could take to a deserted island, he picked SM64.

post 2 most correct!!!

i dont remember any game on ps1 truthfully rendered in 3D or supporting actual real analog stick support and anything in 480i or any other sd mode it was always ultra low res

if N64 had ram like 1tsram or edram and a big texture catch it would have been like a ps2

another thing the HARDLYCORES wont admit is nintendo leads in console chip design as well as controllers

n64 was a risc cpu and a vector unit with ram bus ram called REALITY ENGINE

ps2 a generation later was a risc cpu 2 vector units and rambus ram called EMOTION ENGINE

nintendo went ati first and IBM and a gen later ms and sony followed

i love how the fanboys just wont admit the truth

how many articles did we see saying xbox 2 going ibm ps3 going ibm then as a after thought it said wii will be COPYING XBOX WITH EDRAM AND A IBM CPU

WHEN IN FACT WIUIS EDRAM WAS LIKE GAMECUBE AND THE CPU FROM IBM

THEY WERE FIRST A GEN EARLIER BUT IT WAS ALWAYS REPORTED AS THO THEY WERE LAST AND BEHIND

the industry and the gaming media are a JOKE !!!!!!!!

Finally some people who know console tech!
What is sad is the only real jump we had last gen was normal mapping.... There won't be another jump unless you count lighting which was in the Zelda demo... Using an epic engine of course, arnt those reflections epic?
