Monster Hunter 3G - Opening Cinematic
I think that this game will be a smash hit for the 3DS in Japan when it's released later this month. The sales numbers of the system have been skyrocketing as of late in Japan and in the United States with Monster Hunter 3G being the icing on the cake for what has turned into a very successful first year for the 3DS.

Super Mario 3D Land - Video Review
Has anyone had a chance to give this game a try? With Zelda now released, it may be difficult to play anything else but there are quite a lot of other games that deserve mention this holiday. This game looks great.

Reggie: "Wii U will disrupt the market"
Here is a portion of the new interview with Reggie:
Nintendo President Iwata says every measure will be taken to ensure that the Wii U is a success. What does the Wii U need to succeed when it arrives in 2012?
Reggie: The Wii U has to deliver a differentiated experience that can only be brought to bear through the use of these two screens. If all we do is a beautiful game in HD, it's been done before. We have to take advantage of the second screen, we need to take advantage of the connectivity that the system will offer and, if we do that, we believe that we will yet again disrupt the market the same way we with DS and Wii.
We've heard murmurs that people are calling Zelda: Skyward Sword the swan song for the Wii. Is there any truth to that?
Reggie: Well, it is certainly true that the Wii is not over. I was the one who was asked the question originally, and I think some comments were taken out of context. So, what I can say is that there certainly will be more games launched for the Wii. And what I can say is that we believe there are still millions more systems to be sold. And I can say that the Wii will coexist side by side beside the Wii U for some period of time.
I think for any game to compare to Skyward Sword, I think is gonna be a tough challenge. All the reviews aren't out yet, but I counted this morning there are eight perfect scores. I don't know if there's going to be a video game in history that's going to be able to compare to Skyward Sword. So, to clarify my comments on this, there will be more games for the Wii, we'll sell more hardware for the Wii and it will coexist side by side to the Wii U. All those things I can commit to, but I can't commit that there's going to be another game that will score and be of the caliber of Skyward Sword. I don't think there's been one to date.
Link to the full interview
Just how disruptive the system will be is unknown at this time. At least we will be getting Nintendo games that look far and beyond what has been seen on the Wii so far. I'm looking forward to getting some news on the Wii U next year.
Have a great weekend my friends

*Editorial* Gamespot gives Skyward Sword a 7.5
Here is some portions of the review, you can read the whole thing at the link below:
About the controls:
If you decide to be slow and precise rather than quick and efficient, new problems arise that ensure combat does not go smoothly. The Wii Remote has trouble recognizing your different swings. Often, you thrust forward in real life only to watch Link swing feebly in the game or just stand completely motionless. The sensitivity varies wildly so you're never quite sure how much force you need before the game recognizes your actions. As in the aforementioned situation, you may swing you arm while Link ignores you.
About the new elements to the series:
A few of the new elements introduced in Skyward Sword are positive additions to the series. An upgrade system lets you use collectibles you scrounge up in your quest to improve your tools. For example, you can turn your slingshot into a scattershot that fires three pellets at once or improve the healing powers of your potions. This is a great addition to the franchise because it gives you a purpose for collecting things, with a tangible result when you acquire enough goods. Link is also more agile than in past games. He can now sprint through worlds and shimmy up short walls, and this allows the labyrinthine design to be more robust. A stamina meter ensures you can't abuse this, and there are clever situations where you must run precisely, lest you run out of breath and fail your mission. There's also a motion-controlled segment onboard a minecart, and though it only lasts a few minutes, it's a thrilling detour from the main actions.
Then the contradiction:
There just aren't enough new ideas to separate Skyward Sword from its predecessors, and the few additions come with mixed results. Even with many bright spots, Skyward Sword still feels like a nostalgic retread. Those yearning for something new will be disappointed, but anyone thirsty for another exciting adventure will find plenty to enjoy here.
My take on this:
Now I haven't mentioned this you guys, but I already have Skyward Sword (through a contact) and I can tell you that I completely disagree with this review. I'm not upset by what the reviewer is saying since what is being said is really funny to me actually.
The controls in Skyward Sword are the very core of the game itself and they have worked for me flawlessly. The amount of love and devotion that has gone into making this game control smoothly and accurately is very much noticed when you play it. Believe me, Nintendo would not have released this new Zelda that requires Wii Motion Plus (I have the Wii Remote Plus and it's godly) and not have the controls work correctly. The game absolutely does not have any trouble recognizing your swings in any direction you move. Yes, the game requires you to make slightly more aggressive swings than just slowly swinging in any direction. This is not because the motion controls are broken or unresponsive, the reason is because the small smooth movements are used for various other interactions with your sword (I won't spoil it for you); besides, what would anyone accomplish with a small slow swipe against a foe? This argument about unresponsive controls in that review is pointless.
Skyward Sword does not use the IR sensor for the on-screen reticle but motion-plus for exact cursor location. This works very well and I only had to re-center the screen a couple times and one time I did it just to see the effect; it's really nothing big to worry about like the reviewer said.
The review also talked about how the game really doesn't add enough new things to the series. This is a very poor argument as well.
Here are some new things Skyward Sword introduces to the series:
-Full motion control with precision swings for amazingly accurate sword fighting
-The brand new weapon/item upgrade system
-The Stamina Gauge
-More random/less predictable ways to collect items
-Newly designed dungeons that you don't even realize are dungeons.
There is more the game adds but I don't want to spoil it for the faithful fans. Even though I haven't quite finished the game yet, you have to trust me when I say that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the biggest change the series has ever had, all while keeping to a somewhat faithful path to what you would know a Zelda game to be. All this begs to question what the reviewer at Gamespot was expecting? A game that doesn't resemble Zelda at all?
The reason why I wrote this explanation is not just because of the low review for Zelda, but the strange habit that keeps repeating itself in the gaming industry. Here you have Gamespot giving Skyward Sword a 7.5 but then just a week earlier gives Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 an 8.5? You could argue that MW3 is the worst game in Call of Duty history based on the poor multiplayer map design alone and for the fact that it truthfully doesn't change anything in the series but repeats and repeats it. This leads to Zelda, which actually tries hard to change the formula and add a lot of new things to the series only for it to still get labeled as too much of the same. I'm amazed by the short shortsightedness of some of those in the gaming industry that still think this way when it comes to Nintendo games but seemingly forget about it for others. It is almost like they are saying: "Well we expect a lot more from Zelda than we do from Call of Duty".
Gamespot, is that they seem to be in the minority of the reviews so far. Most sites and publications have given Skyward Sword a 10/10 calling it one of the best or the very best Zelda game of all time. We all remember the Gamespot 8.8 review of Twilight Princess and how much of an uproar there was about it. Now it seems that Gamespot could be looking for even more attention with one of the lowest ratings ever given a console Zelda game.
No one may agree with Gamespot's 7.5 review of Skyward Sword, but rest assured that Gamespot agrees because they are getting a ton of traffic now because of it. Amazing.

*Rumor* Wii U to use Origin for Digital Distribution?
This is coming from Wiiugo:
"We received a tip from an EA intern with some very interesting information pertaining to the Wii U’s online system. Our source, who wishes to remain anonymous, claims that her information comes from a network engineer whom she is friends with. As with all news from anonymous sources, it’s difficult to determine its authenticity. But what we received sounds plausible and even explains Peter Moore’s relentless excitement for the Wii U.
It’s no secret that EA are helping Nintendo develop the Wii U’s online service. It will allegedly offer voice- and video-chatting support, leaderboards, and detailed friend lists that tell you who’s online and what they’re playing. The service aims to offer greater flexibility to publishers than Xbox Live, and EA . From our source:
Many publishers are happy with Xbox Live’s features, but they aren’t happy with how strict Microsoft’s guidelines are. Nintendo went with an open flexible approach with online because when Nintendo asked developers/publishers what they wanted in an online service, that was the number one thing they asked for.
But interestingly, EA are supposedly in talks with Nintendo to try and make Origin, their digital games distribution platform, a key element of Nintendo’s online strategy, too. EA would have the chance to bring Origin to the console space and win many new users while Nintendo see it “as an opportunity to rebuild relationships with Western gamers because they feel that only a massive western company such as EA nderstands what is needed to make an online service attractive to western gamers.”
According to our source, EA isn’t the only company looking into bringing its digital distribution platform to the Wii U – Valve, too, are interested in getting Steam onto it. But EA are “aggressively persuading Nintendo to go Origins exclusive with Wii U’s online so they can gain a competitive advantage over Steam.”

If this is true, the Wii U could have a very exciting downloadable game scene that will work a lot better than Wii Ware. In my opinion Origin is not as good as Steam but it certainly is much better than what Nintendo has ever done in the past. Could this also mean that the Wii U may in fact have a decent sized hard drive available at launch? The wait for new info on Nintendo's next system is a painful process indeed.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - video review
Is this game the best in the Zela series? That will be debated probably for a while, but from what I've seen and heard it looks like it might be the best game yet on the Wii; and that's saying a lot when you think about it. Just 9 more days and we'll be yielding the Skyward Sword in our hands.

Rayman Origins - Video Review
This game received a 10 in graphics which is something that Wii games almost never get. I'm surprised that the review didn't mention anything about the controls other than "it controls great" I wanted to know what controllers the game supports on the Wii. I guess I won't have to wonder much longer since the game will be here early next week. It looks like a fantastic platformer.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - More Wii online gameplay
One thing that I can already tell that needs to be fixed (even without the commentary) is the lag shooting. It seems that you really need to shoot a tad in front of the person running from you so that they will run into your lagged bullets. It doesn't seem to be an issue when they are directly in front of you but when they start going left and right it looks like the lag really effects gameplay. Hopefully a patch/fix will take care of this issue; other than that the game looks great.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Wii Online Gameplay
This game looks very good on the Wii, the graphics look very similar to Black Ops but the art direction and level design seems to be better. I know how great the controls will be so I will probably be getting this based on that. I'll see you on the Battlefield! (Love Battlefield 3 bye the way)

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - video preview
It's nice that I've been playing a ton of Battlefield 3 on the PC to keep me distracted while I wait for Skyward Sword to get here. The game looks to be everything a Zelda game should but with a lot of new things to look forward to.

Mario describes the Nintendo 3DS
How cool is that? If you ever wanted to hear Mario talk a lot more than his usual voice-overs then this is the video to watch. It's nice to see the differences pointed out one and a time from the regular DS.
Enjoy your weekend guys!

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - New Trailer Overview
*Spoilers*
Well, not too many spoilers if you don't understand Japanese but there is still some small ones. This game has reached fever pitch and is ready for release on November 20th, will you be picking this one up?

Resident Evil: Revelations - new trailer
This game definitely appears to have a console experience on a handheld. Does all of this justify the $50 price tag that the game will have? It is hard to say since we don't know if the game will come with any extras like the Circle Pad Pro or something else Resident Evil related. I'd hate to see sales suffer because of a price that is too high for some people.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - new gameplay video
I advise anyone who is weary about the game being spoiled for them to be careful watching some of the videos I post for the new Zelda. No doubt some of the items/weapons shown in some of the videos will be things you wish to find for yourself. The game looks to be the Wii's best in a very long time and hopefully not the last.
