Donkey Kong Country Returns - video review

From what I've been reading/watching this DKC starts out to be extremely similar to the SNES games but then after a few levels it branches off into new territory. I'm very excited to play this, side scrolling challenge is what I was raised on and this looks to have all that and more.

Between this and Epic Mickey, my Christmas list is just drooling with delicious looking adventures. Too bad I can't buy them outright, I've gotta wait for Christmas instead. Guess I'll just play GoldenEye to the core for the next month to tide me over.

the only thing that concerns me is coalition detection as in dieing wen you shouldn't the snes versions were terrible for that i dont mind difficulty but plain cheated wen you die aint fun thats my only reason for hesitation in buying it they might have put that in so it has the old school vib the core donkey kong fans want I DONT WANT IT i want perfection so if i die i know its me and not some dump shit development

Collision detection doesn't seem to be an issue for other reviewers. The problem lies in the outrageous difficulty which IGN's Craig Harris admitted to throwing his controller in frustration for. Either way, I think we'll see a fun, platforming equivalent of Ninja Gaiden.
