Sonic Colors - new screens

From all the footage and gameplay impressions from E3, it seems that Sonic Colors plays a lot like Sonic Unleashed only without the Wolf/Sonic parts (which is a good thing). Hopefully this is a good Sonic game without any "yeah but this one thing is holding it back" parts in it. Wishful thinking I know since Sonic can't seem to catch a break these days.

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor - video review

I've been playing the PAL version of this game since May, and this review is pretty much dead on. It's a really good game even though there are some strange looking character designs. The controls are easy and the game is very challenging. You should check it out for yourself.

Metroid Other M - gameplay video

Not much has been said about Metroid Other M, only a few previews but nothing big. From the videos I've seen, it looks like an excellent game. Maybe that is why we haven't heard much about it since if it was terrible I'm sure their would be haters all over the place complaining about it. Only a two more months until we can see for ourselves.

Donkey Kong Country Returns - interview

I liked how they mention that they played the original 3 games over and over again to make sure the feel of those games was kept intact. I'm really looking forward to this game in November.

The Conduit 2 - interview and gameplay video

This game looks vastly improved over the original in many ways. The graphics seem to be much more detailed with a better art design and style. I like that they added the "down the sights" view and the ability to run. I didn't think I would be interested in a sequel to the original since the it was just a bland game, but so far this is changing my mind.

3DS more powerful than Wii?

(3DS is rendering the above trailer in real-time)

In technical terms, no the 3DS is not more powerful than the Wii. What about these amazing graphics it's able to produce seemingly so easily compared to the Wii? Well it was revealed that the 3DS is using a new graphics card called the PICA200 which is using a newer form of OpenGL ES 1.1 being used with mobile devices. What this graphics card can do is use a lot of the same graphically effects of the next-gen consoles with very little power consumption. The PICA200 GPU has "fixed" shaders/normal mapping already built inside so the developer just needs to program what shader they want to use and it will do it on the fly.

With the Wii and Gamecube, Nintendo made them with the developer in mind as well. The TEV was made to give the developer more flexibility to create there own kind of graphics the way they wanted. They could develop their own shading and mapping techniques to really made unique looking games. This was demonstrated much better in the Gamecube's life span since developers in this generation don't seem to care to try to make a game on the Wii that really uses it's power to the full. This is why we still continue to see flat, plain looking games to this day. The Wii can do the shaders and Normal Mapping that we are seeing but it is too late in the lifespan of the Wii for the majority of game developers to give a rat's ass about what it can do and just make games designed to give them a quick buck instead.

Why didn't Nintendo incorporate something like the PICA200 GPU in the Wii instead of the TEV? Well, simply the technology wasn't ready yet by the time the Wii was released. The 3DS graphics card is made to make lazy developers more excited to make games that have great graphics since the system will pretty much do the job for them. It's a shame that this is what game development has come to but at the same time it's good that Nintendo didn't sit back and do nothing to address the problem that has been going on for 4 years on the Wii. I look for Nintendo's next console to have a similar graphics card on a larger scale.

Sonic Colors - E3 gameplay

I think this game looks fantastic graphically for the Wii. Also from what I've been hearing from people that played the game, it seems like it's really fun to top it off. Anyone here that was at the show play this game? Let me know in the comment section.

Epic Mickey - demo walkthrough

I really like the makeover that this game has received since it's original incarnation was shown last year. The style is exactly how you'd imagine a dark Disney world with Mickey as the star. I'm looking forward to this one!

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - full trailer

Am I the only one that actually likes the look of this game? I'm hearing a lot of complaining about how it's too colorful or that Nintendo should have chosen to go one direction with it and not try to combine the WW look with the TP look. I think it looks just fine the way it is. Besides, they only showed one area of the game and on top of that it's not coming out until next year. Give it a chance.

Donkey Kong Country Returns - trailer

I'm really looking forward to this one! Takes me back to 1994 all over again; it should be a nice holiday for Wii owners.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - new screens

Amazing style and art direction. Taking the best thing about Wind Waker's graphics to a whole new level. Too bad it's not coming out until next year, even though I'm not really going to be worried about with all these other awesome games to play until that time. Oh yeah and I just might have to check out that 3DS thing too (it looks amazing).

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I think it's a great choice by Nintendo to go with the cel-shaded looks with the adult Link! The graphics from Wind Waker still look great today, and in my opinion Twilight Princess hasn't aged very well. I'm happy.

With this announced one day before Nintendo's E3 presentation, it makes me think that Nintendo themselves may have this planned for the Wii as well. There was that patent filed a few months ago from Nintendo that showed them incorporating more gyroscopes into a controller that looked just like a normal Wii remote; so we'll see more tomorrow. This looks like a natural progression of the Wii remote design, but of course I'm more excited at what else they are going to unveil. This should be a huge show!

Xenoblade - 2 hours of gameplay!

If you don't want some of the game spoiled then don't watch too much of this video. Granted it's from the Japanese version so you aren't going to understand a lot, but you will see more of the areas in the game. This JRPG looks so epic and enormous, it's really rare to see games like this anymore or at all.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Enjoy

Xenoblade - new gameplay video

Amazing sense of scope, depth and size. You really get the sense that you are in a huge world, all without a lot of loading screens. Also the music....the music is a work of art. You guys should go check out the music samples on YouTube to really appreciate this for yourself.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 99 lives trick

You knew that Nintendo had to put this in there. I'm not sure if having 99 lives is really necessary since every time you go back to boot the game up you start with 4 lives.

New Nintendo promo video

I haven't seen Nintendo do a video like this for one of it's systems since the Gamecube. It seems that Nintendo is trying to focus their attention back to the gamer and less on the non-gamer.

Xenoblade - Abyss trailer

This game looks a bit less impressive graphically than The Last Story but the game itself might be very good. A lot of effort seems to be going into to this.

The Last Story - new scans

(Click for larger image)

This game looks fantastic, this all I can say about it really. The game is going to have a lot of attention to detail from what I can see.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold - debut trailer

From that guys that brought us A Boy and His Blob bring us a new Batman game. I'm really the liking the style of this as we haven't seen "this" Batman for quite sometime. This looks like a good old fashion co-op beat'em up......and I like those.

Tetris Pary Deluxe - video review

Since when are we ever truly tired of Tetris? The first Tetris Party was a fantastic game and any kind of sequel or extension of that can only be a good thing. I'm looking forward to this one.
