2009 - year of the Wii

So did the end of 2008 get you down on the Wii? Well thank goodness their is always next year huh? 2009 is just around the corner and it is truly looking like the year to be a Wii owner (if you're not already).

The guys at NeoGAF have complied a list of anticipated games that are going to be released at some point next year. For the complete list of the games and a ton of screens for each go here: NeoGAF

Here is the list so far:

Capcom VS Tatsunoko has not been confirmed or denied as to being released next year in the United States, so if it does get released it will be next year. That is a pretty good list I must say and of course there will be even more games that will be coming out next year that haven't even been announced yet by Nintendo and other Third Parties as well.

Have a great Holiday weekend everyone and I'll see you all back here next Monday!

There are about 6 games on that list that I will get for sure. About another 6 that I will most likely get or am at least interested in. And the rest I think will probably be pretty good games but are not really my thing.

Number one game on that list though, The Conduit for sure.

Deadly Creatures comming up at December 15th 2008.
Nintendo should support HV in Conduit .Maybe some dev teams buy quantum3 engine but needs to be released soon as possible -with no glitches of course.
Dont forget about Factor 5 Kid Icarus.
2008 wasnt good year for Nintendo gamer. Just few games was really good.

out of that whole list the only games that look like they will do good for the console are sin & punishment and pikmin. thats only because theyre sequels to good games. the wii is king of sequels and minigames. the rest of the list is garbage compared to the ps3 and xbox.

What about Mad World? What about The Conduit? Punch Out!! even? I'd say that's a pretty good list by any console's standards.

Yeah Falco I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I don't think there's any game quite like Mad World out there, so you can't really consider that garbage compared to other systems. I'm with MetalDave on this one.

Can't wait to see how Deadly Creatures does. I have a lot of faith in that game so far, and I hope it's not a letdown.

3rd party devs, keep up the good work. :)

great list but its no way repping all 2009, as blog guy states...factor 5 news soon on wii titles carnt wait for that....

off topic Toshiba's new spursengine looks fantastic for co processing/ hd/ and graphics, its a mini cell with no ppe ibm core its a hd engine made up of 4x cell like spes/vector units and no central cpu clock is 1.5ghz

it can scale and optimize a 480i/p signal to full native quality 960p yes 960p (nearly 1080p) native quality from a sd signal 480i

just like multicore cpus and cell it can handle multipul threads like hd/physics/shaders/sound all in one go

its also low heat low energy use a upgraded wii plus this chip would be real cheep yet really powerful

it takes 9 480i frames and builds 1 960p frame from that data in realtime

imagine what a wii game could look like with that process alone let alone more powerful wii 2 specs

i wonder hhmmmmm wii hd exists according to rumor just maybe im on to something here a nintendoized spursengine plus optimized wii cpu -gpu- and ram

Just posted my Wii to a buyer on eBay. Adios Nintendo, my patience finally snapped about 6 months ago, I purchased an xbox and ever since the Wii had been gathering dust without even being plugged in . . . I tell a lie, it got plugged in the other day to wipe the memory.

Sure they won't give a shit though considering they'll still sell shit loads to grannies and 6 year old girls.

@ Falco Lombardi

King of sequels?

Hmm... lets see.

Gears of Wars 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Resistance 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Devil May Cry 4, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Dynasty Warriors 6, Killzone 2, God of War III, Tekken 6, Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy XIII, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, and plenty more I forgot to mention.

Yeah, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 are kings of original IP's. Do you think these games are "original" because they have better graphics, or they're games you prefer, or both?

Besides, what's wrong with sequels anyway? The more we buy them, the more companies -- like E.A. and Activision -- churn them out. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. I'm sure sequels to games like The Conduit, MadWorld, and Marumasa: The Dragon Blade will never see the light of day if you don't feel like these are worthy of any title of originality, Falco.

This is not for 2009 yet; but it's worth putting on the list anyway: Dragon Quest 10; exclusive to Wii. Believe it! SquareEnix just announced it last night.

Can you say: Message delievered?!
