Developing, manufacturing and marketing new consoles every 2-3 years is extremely expensive and could even cause new consumers to hold off on a purchase. Having a decent upgrade mid-cycle without having to release a completely new console is something that could work for Nintendo and the NX.

Nintendo NX - Designed for Upgrading
Developing, manufacturing and marketing new consoles every 2-3 years is extremely expensive and could even cause new consumers to hold off on a purchase. Having a decent upgrade mid-cycle without having to release a completely new console is something that could work for Nintendo and the NX.
