Here is a quick tutorial on how to make the YouTube app on the 3DS work in watching other videos from other websites besides YouTube. I have tried this myself and while it does work on some videos, it is very buggy but it might have more to do with the app itself needing to be patched overall.

youtube apps are terrible on all systems i use the browser on wiiu to go to youtube the app is a joke
i also youtube via browser on phones and smart devices too
