Metroid Other M - opening scene walkthrough

I'm not going to lie to you guys, but this game looks amazing. This is confirmed to be a dual layer 8GB Disc as well with all those cut-scenes crammed into it filling it to the brim. Looks like you will all need to buy this game to fully enjoy it....

I've also been watching a little of the Live Stream from JustinTV but not enough to ruin the game for myself. It looks to be a definite purchase. Have a great weekend!

All the reviews I've seen so far have been in the high 8's with G4 giving it a 2 out of 5 which seems unfair. This game is gonna be well worth my money.

Hey MetalDave! I am currently playing Metroid Other M! I am blown away! When it went into 3rd person perspective, I got excited! Alas, it's used sparingly. Nice detail/lighting on Samus' suit. It's beautiful. I have never been a huge fan of Metroid, but I have played the Trilogy. This is the first Metroid game that I can't put down. I'm digging the action oriented change. Very addictive. Smoothest transitions from gameplay to cutscenes to gameplay I have ever seen. I was a bit disappointed that you couldn't move in FPP though.

As I was playing it, I was astounded how this engine transitioned between FPV, 3rd person perspective, and 2.5D scroller - on the fly! It got me thinking...
This approach could work for reimagining the Resident Evil series. It would satisfy the people who wanted the original camera view/forced perspective, AND provide first person perspective to look around rooms for clues. And hell, everybody copied RE:4 as far as 3rd person perspective. RE fans could pick and choose between the 3 views! Team Ninja's Wii engine has pretty cool potential and possibilties.
What do you think?
