Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles - new gameplay video

Even though this is an on-rails game, I'm liking just about everything else about it so far. Seeing your character reload and also being able to see your partner during gameplay really helps a great deal to make this look like more than just a moving camera with reticules. Also the announcement of the game having a scenario with Krauser taking place in South America is great news as well. I may need to get this.

Is it me or does Resident Evil 5 look more possible on wii now. I saw a screen shot of the game play thats set in South-America and it looks just like Resident Evil 5.

Dead Space looks good, but I'd go with Resident Evil any day of the week. It has more stories to get into and more familiar characters. IF Dead Space was not on-rails I'd go with that.

If Dead Space doesnt sell EA have no one to blame but themselves. Back in Febuary they had the gorm to announce it coming to Wii but left details in the air for two weeks. We expected a more traditional third person shooter like the original (maybe that was foolish) and then get info it's a rail shooter.
It seems since that announcement they realised their mistake, they tried all ways to twist it by saying it's a guided first person shooter, that it's a risky venture for them, and now seem to be trying to manipulate us into pity sales with: "It's a test to see if mature games sell on Wii."

Maybe Extravtion will be awesome but I think we deserve better then this and forgo it on a principle.

yes but which has the better graphics metaldave?

Resident Evil I'd say has the better graphics. Like Predator said before, they could use that South America level as an example that Resident Evil 5 could in fact be done and done well on the Wii.

I wish this is a first-person shooter because it looks too good to be on-rails. WTF is going on, Capcom? You gotta be planning something big since you have seem to put alot of effort on the presentation for an on-rails shooter.

Guys, regarding the possibility of RE5 on Wii based on what we can see of the new Darkside Chronicles scenario, let me tell you that the producer of said game, Masachika Kawata, he considered it possible based on what Cavia (actual makers of the game) had done with the South American level.

From a Kotaku article (July 9th, 2009):

Kawata: "Cavia has surprised us with the quality of graphics in Darkside Chronicles, so (RE5 Wii Edition) may actually be possible after all…"

For some reason I kinda want this more than Extraction. I'm 100% sure Extraction has more strategy as a light gun shooting game, but this just looks more fun and easy to enjoy.

capcom saying res evil 5 not posable on wii had nothing to do with power that was hype to get ps3/x360 fans hyped its reverse phycolagy make ps3/x360 owners feel good about themselfs and to get sales and to market HD as graphics anyone with eyes can see its just res evil 4 turbo

If Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles meets its sales expectations, Capcom will eventually release Resident Evil 5 for the Wii whether it has the processing power or not. They said the exact same thing about Dead Rising on the Wii, but years later, released it because they wanted to make a quick cash-in. Money will push them to make this happen.
