Super Mario Galaxy and other big releases today

-Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
-Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
-Medal of Honor Heroes 2
-Need for Speed: Pro Street
-Contra 4

Who is going to be picking up one of these games today? I will be getting 3 of these games. I'm really looking forward to Contra 4, I remember playing Contra 3 on the SNES when it came out back in 1992 and I'm hoping for more of the same great gameplay and difficulty with this game. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 I'm buying not for the sake of another WWII game, but solely for the control and online play. The freedom of movement is great and its nice to see a developer finally nail FPS controls on the Wii. Super Mario Galaxy was a given from day one and I hope all of you pick this game up today also (I'm sure you will or in some cases already have).

I am swinging by Best Buy (or Toys R' Us if they still have it) today to pick up Mario. Other than that I am holding off on Contra IV, Mario and Sonic Olympics, and Call of Duty 4 for Christmas. If I don't get either one then I will buy them after Christmas.

Well I'm stoked that I got Galaxy today, but I'm bummed that Gamestop didn't get Medal of Honor even though they were supposed to since it shipped yesterday. If it doesn't come in tomorrow I'm be a little more upset but usually Gamestop gets their games on Wednesday anyway.

Speaking of this week's releases, did you guys take a look at the reviews of Assassin's Creed from IGN and 1up?

Holy shit. The fanboys went apeshit crazy over those reviews.

Unlike GameSpot's reviews of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, IGN and 1up were more credible and reasonable because other reviews that have given the game a higher score pointed out the same exact problems, such as the repetitive gameplay and disappointing AI.

That right there kills the game's potential because the "revolutionary" AI was supposed to be its major gameplay strength. Hell, it was heavily emphasized by Jade Raymond and her crew.

Still, I will check it out. I don't think it will be a god awful game, but Assassin's Creed is this generation's Fable.

Thats what over hype does, we've been hearing about that game for so long as being the best thing since sliced bread. I'm actually surprised that Gamespot rated it so high when compared to IGN, usually its the other way around.
