Gundam 0079 screens

Link

This game is looking very good so far and it releases in Japan in few months. I'm not sure if it is a Wii exclusive or not because the PS2 always seems to have a version of whatever game is released. More as it comes.

Ken Kutaragi to retire from Sony in June

"In March, The Wall Street Journal said Ken Kutaragi was a "stumbling block" for Sony; now they're reporting that the controversial chairman and group CEO for Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. -- and father of the PlayStation brand -- will be retiring his post effective June 19. Of course, the 57-year-old exec was recently kicked upstairs, removing him from day-to-day operations following what many considered to be a botched strategy for the PlayStation 3. Kaz Hirai, who replaced Ken in December, will be promoted to CEO of SCE."

It looks like Sony is not going to let one man ruin their entire game division. I am surprised that this action was taken so soon because the PS3 has only been on the market for 6 months. The damage is done it seems and the Wii may already have too much hype, word of mouth and pure momentum for Sony to catch up. The tide has turned.

New One Piece screens

I must say that I'm getting excited for this game, it keeps looking better and better it seems with each set of screens released. I also saw a video recently and the animation and cel-shading look fantastic.

Crash of the Titans

They say they are making a PS2 version of this game, but the Wii version is the one they are focusing on the most. The graphics are a work-in-progress but I do like the art style so far. Also, a recent IGN preview of this game said that the Wii version looks much better so far than the PS2 version which is good news.

Resident Evil 4 Wii Ada Wong Missions confirmed to have revamped graphics

That is nice to hear because it would be a sharp contrast going from the GC quality Leon missions to the PS2 quality Ada missions.

Resident Evil 4 Wii edition being based on Gamecube version is very important

Comparisons of the PS2 and GC versions of RE4:

We all know by now that the Wii edition of Resident Evil 4 will include the Ada side quest from the PS2 version of the game. This however led to many people thinking that the entire Wii version was going to be based on the PS2 version. Since it is now confirmed from Capcom that this is not the case, what I'm doing now is showing you why this is so important that it is the Cube version that the game is based on. When you compare both versions together, there is no contest which version is the best. The PS2 version lacks many things that gave Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube atmosphere and detail. The lighting, shadows, polygons and color are all very subdued on the PS2 version. If Capcom chose to just use the PS2 version of this game, I think we would all be extremely upset at the big downgrade from the Gamecube version seeing that the Wii can run all Gamecube games without any problem. Take a look at the links above to see my point for yourself. Let me know what you think.

New Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and RE4 Wii shots!

This from the Neogaf gaming forums. Umbrella Chronicles definitely has the most realistic graphics on the Wii yet. RE4 looks great as to be expected. More to come.

Update on Umbrella Chronicles:

The graphics will be done totally in real time on the Wii; also you will be able to look around with the Nunchuck's analogue stick to find clues and secrets. When you are doing certain "moves" with the Wiimote the game will switch to 3rd Person view so you will be able to see your character on screen during these moments of non shooting action. Capcom has also said that Umbrella Chronicles will serve up plenty of scary moments, so this is not just a "House of the Dead" that looks like a Resident Evil game. I'm looking forward to it.
